Japanese Cranes (Grus japonensis) on snow. This image is part of a deliberately overexposed series representing Japanese Cranes. The picture was inspired by Japanese monochrome ink paints (Suibokuga). The Suibokuga prospered in the Edo period when the greatest artist was the one who could express himself by using as few lines as possible.
